Who here thinks this board will make a comeback? Will younger metalheads sign up or just those of us who "remember the good old days". Can people give up clicking on "like" and actually have a conversation?

I don't think so.
Most people I talk to don't even understand why I don't use social media.
I hope I am wrong though.

Im not sure if anyone uses message boards any more. Well besides the girlfriend to talk about celebrity gossip.

They are still used a lot for online support for certain companies. Hahaha.
I have been running one for a while for a small group of friends. I use phpbb as well.

I pretty much have just used facebook since around 2009ish. When I set this one up is likely the first time I posted on one since then. But i cant stand facebook any more. I feel stuck using it because it is what everyone uses. Most people I want to stay in touch with is only on there.
Irony of this board/film is Ill need to use facebook to promote it.

I doubt msgboards will make a comeback. I do feel that they brought more of a sense of community together than social media does. But right now the metal scene in Moncton is doing pretty good. We had over 75 paid for archspire etc on a Tuesday. Over 100 for Rivers of nihil etc. There is support for shows even tho it seems to be disjointed (different clusters of friends and different cities shows up). There's a lot of work needed to bring forth New comers here.

It's possible but unlikely it will return to it's full glory.
There are a few boards still fairly active = Metal Archives Forum and Bravewords come to mind. I'm guessing most of those users are longtime posters that stuck with it.

I hope it sticks around. I don't see it being like 2004 again, but I prefer discussing things in this method over newer social media methods.

There’s a good chance if more people know about it.
Perhaps shit like reddit or YouTube gives you the ability to down vote so you can subtly hurt someone’s feelings HAHA

Not like here where you just hurt their feelings out in the open.Joey von Doom wrote: ↑Wed Aug 01, 2018 8:28 pmThere’s a good chance if more people know about it.
